After spate of calamities, MDA issues Pokemon warning
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleMagen David Adom issues a public service warning after a series of accidents in Israel involving Pokemon Go players.
According to Ynet, the rescue service’s statement warns the public about using the game, which it calls “a dangerous phenomenon that is gathering momentum.”
The Pokemon Go app uses satellite locations, graphics and camera capabilities to overlay cartoon monsters on real-world settings, challenging players to capture and train them for battles.
The MDA warning comes several days after an Israeli teenager had to be rescued after losing consciousness in the sea while chasing a Pokemon Go monster.
