From Assad: Trump could be ‘natural ally’ against terrorists
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleSyrian President Bashar Assad tells Russian state television that Donald Trump could be a “natural ally” should he follow through on a pledge to tackle terror.
“If Trump can genuinely fight against terrorism, he can be our natural ally,” says Assad in the interview broadcast today, according to Reuters.
But Assad also casts doubt on the president-elect’s sincerity to do so now that he has won the election.
