Clinton campaign condemns Israeli flag burning

PHILADELPHIA — Hillary Clinton’s campaign condemns the burning of an Israeli flag at the Democratic National Convention.

“Hillary Clinton has always stood against efforts to marginalize Israel and incitement, and she strongly condemns this kind of hatred,” Sarah Bard, the campaign’s director of Jewish outreach, says in an email. “Burning the Israeli flag is a reckless act that undermines peace and our values.”

The flag was set alight Tuesday as protesters chanted “Long live the intifada” outside the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, which is housing this week’s Democratic National Convention.
