Decision on setting Katsav free to wait a week

A parole board decision on whether to free former president Moshe Katsav, serving time for a rape conviction, will only be made next Sunday, according to a court statement.

The results of a hearing held today, aside from discussion on the timing of the decision, are being kept under wraps until the announcement is made, according to a short protocol sent out by the court.

Katsav, who has served over five years of a seven-year sentence, has been denied early release several times.
