EU condemns ‘regrettable’ new settlement housing announcement
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe European Union is condemning today’s announcement of 2,500 new homes in West Bank settlements.
“It is regrettable that Israel is proceeding with this policy, despite the continuous serious international concern and objections, which have been constantly raised at all levels,” says an EU statement.
“A negotiated two-state solution is the only way to fulfill the legitimate aspirations of both parties and to achieve enduring peace,” it says, citing the recent UN Security Council resolution on the issue.
