The pro-Hezbollah Lebanese outlet Al Akhbar headlined its print edition today with the message, “Sooner or later, the punishment will come. Don’t be misled,” over a picture of Tel Aviv.
The newspaper’s editor, Ibrahim Al Amin, regarded as close to Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, intimated in an editorial that Hezbollah’s response to the killing of its military commander Fuad Shukr last week by Israel could impact Tel Aviv.
Roi Kais, the Arab affairs correspondent of Kan News, in its evening broadcast, says that Amin was indicating that Hezbollah “may target a military or defense facility” in central Israel, but not aim at civilians.
Channel 12’s Arab affairs reporter Ohad Hemo draws a similar conclusion from Amin’s article and from Nasrallah’s own speech tonight. Channel 12 also notes that Hezbollah references to Tel Aviv can be taken to refer more generally to central Israel.
