IDF naval commando asks court to strike down Turkey deal
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA reservist in Israel’s elite Shayetet 13 naval unit petitions the High Court to overturn the newly signed reconciliation agreement with Turkey.
The commando asks the court to strike down the compensation payment to the families of the 10 Turkish nationals killed during violent clashes with Israeli troops who boarded their flotilla ship as it was was trying to break through the Israeli blockade on Gaza.
He writes in the petition that the payment of compensation and accompanying apology from Israel harm him and his IDF comrades who daily put themselves in harm’s way, Army Radio reports.
