An Israeli official expresses “cautious optimism” that the second group of Israeli hostages will still be released tonight following a long delay.

The comment comes after an Egyptian report claiming that the disagreements have been bridged and the deal is expected to move ahead soon.

In a statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirms that he just held a “situational assessment” with all security chiefs “in order to ensure that the second phase of releases will go ahead as arranged.”
