Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei says that Israel’s killing of top Hezbollah commanders will not vanquish the Iran-backed Lebanese terror group.

“The organizational strength and human resources of Hezbollah is very strong and will not be critically hit by the killing of a senior commander, even if that is clearly a loss,” Khamenei says.

“Some of the effective and valuable forces of Hezbollah were martyred, which undoubtedly caused damage to Hezbollah, but this was not the sort of damage that could bring the group to its knees,” he says in a meeting with military personnel and veterans of the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war.

The “Palestinian and Lebanese resistance will have the final victory,” Khamenei says.

Khamenei says that despite assertions by Washington that it did not know in advance of Israel’s alleged plans to blow up Hezbollah’s communication devices, “the US both knows and interferes,” Khamenei says, adding that US President Joe Biden’s administration “needs a victory for the Zionist regime” before the presidential election in November.
