Settler leader and friend: ‘Your last years were painful’

Settler leader and close friend of Sharon Ze’ev “Zambish” Hever eulogizes him as a great builder and fighter — who in his last years did things that were “painful and difficult.”

“You taught the children of Israel how to fight,” Hever says. “Everything you built you built big and deep, a project not for 20 years but for all time…. You believed utterly in the Jewish people and its abilities. You said again and again, ‘This people will overcome every obstacle.'”

Hever insists “I loved you very much; you were a hero of Israel. But because of this love, your about-face in the last two years of your premiership was painful and difficult.”

Hever promises not to cease in building and settling the land. “The questions go unanswered. But as you commanded, we will not give up. We will not give up.”
