White House dodges question on settlement announcement
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleWhite House spokesman Sean Spicer today declined to condemn or offer support for Israel’s announcement of 2,500 new West Bank homes.
Asked at today’s briefing about Israel’s announcement, Spicer says: “Israel continues to be a huge ally of the United States, he wants to grow closer with Israel, to make sure that it gets the full respect that it deserves in the Middle East.”
“We’re going to have a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu and we’ll continue to discuss that.”
Asked again if US President Donald Trump “supports the expansion of settlements, ” Spicer says that: “Like I said, we’ll have a conversation with the prime minister.”
