A resident of the central city of Beit Shemesh was pronounced dead on Tuesday after he was injured in an ATV accident overnight.
The deceased was named as Yisrael Levenstein, 21. His sister, who was riding with him at the time of the incident and was also seriously injured, remains in unstable condition at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.
Photos from the incident showed the ATV overturned, having crashed into a fence next to a park in the central city.
Police, who were investigating the incident, were called to the scene at 12:12 a.m.
One first responder said the siblings were found lying next to the overturned ATV having suffered significant injuries, adding that the 21-year-old had no vital signs when paramedics arrived to treat him.

Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
