Man seriously injured in suspected gangland car bombing

22-year-old taken to hospital after being wounded in explosion outside supermarket in Haifa suburb of Nesher

A man was seriously injured in a car bombing outside a supermarket in the Haifa suburb of Nesher in what police said was likely an attempted gangland killing.

The 22-year old was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center, the Magen David ambulance service said.

The man injured in the car bombing was previously known to police, the Ynet news site reported.

Police said officers were investigating the incident at the scene of the explosion.

A man was also seriously injured last month in a car bombing in the Haifa suburb of Kiryat Haim in a suspected attempted mob assassination.
