Police on Monday night arrested a man for allegedly stabbing his mother’s partner to death, during a brawl in the coastal city of Netanya.

According to police, officers were called to the scene on David Yellin Street, after receiving reports of violence. The United Hatzalah emergency service said the man was wounded in an apartment.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was taken to the city’s Laniado Hospital in critical condition, where he later died of his wounds, medical officials said.

The suspect was detained at the scene, and his remand was expected to be extended on Tuesday, police said.

Police added that officers were investigating the motive.
