A Palestinian man was arrested Wednesday after Givati Brigade soldiers found a knife in his possession as he approached an IDF checkpoint in the southern West Bank.

No one was hurt in the incident, which took place at the Beit Anun Junction north of Hebron.

The man, who was not identified by the IDF, was taken to the Shin Bet for questioning on suspicion of planning a stabbing attack against the soldiers.

The Beit Anun area has been the site of several Palestinian attacks and attempted stabbings in the wave of violence that began in October.
