Israeli troops foiled an attempted weapons sale in the Jordan Valley on Saturday, arresting two suspects and seizing guns, the army said.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, military and police forces arrived at the location where the sale was set to take place in the northern Jordan Valley and arrested two suspects.

The supply of weapons confiscated by the police included nine pistols, an M16 rifle, and a Kalashnikov rifle, the military said.

The IDF said in a statement the attempted deal was thwarted with the help of troops monitoring the area.

The suspects’ identities were not immediately released.
