Students from Hebrew University’s Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design displayed their final projects in fashion, accessories and jewelry at Tuesday’s end-of-year fashion show.
Held at Yaffo 23, the school’s downtown gallery space above Jerusalem’s main post office, nearly a dozen students showed their work, ranging from monochromatic hoodies and monk-like dresses for men to stone-embellished tee-shirts, astronaut-styled outfits, raggedy shoes and bulky bags, as well as some trendy haredi-wear for one model.
Some of the pieces seemed tailored for the Israeli market, including the more conceptual jackets and dresses for women, while others were harder to envision as your average streetwear.
But fashion students have to start somewhere, and the renowned Bezalel Academy is often considered an incubator for Israel’s creative fashion scene.
