Human body parts fell from the sky over the Saudi city of Jeddah on Sunday, in what authorities said was likely the result of a stowaway hiding in a plane’s landing bay.

“Police received a telephone call at 2:30 a.m. from a witness reporting the fall of human remains at an intersection in Mushrefa neighbourhood” in the city, a police spokesman, Nawaf bin Naser al-Bouq, was quoted by AFP as saying.

He added that the human remains likely “fell from a plane’s landing gear.”

According to AFP, some people attempt to cross borders by sneaking into poorly guarded airports and hiding away in the bays that hold planes’ landing gear.

Most of these hidden passengers freeze to death, but occasionally some survive, the report said.
