Magen David Adom paramedics who arrived at the work site attempted to resuscitate Holon resident Sergey Ponovsky, but pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police closed Route 75 in Haifa to traffic because of the downed crane blocking part of the roadway, and closed the Route 22 overpass over the road because of damage caused by the fallen equipment.
