Man shot dead in Baqa al-Gharbiya

23-year-old relative reportedly confesses to murder

A 28-year-old man was shot in Baqa Gharbiya on Friday night and succumbed to his wounds at the nearby Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera.

Eyewitnesses told Ynet News that Nihad Abu-Mokh was shot in the torso at close range outside a family supermarket by a masked man, who fled the scene of the crime.

Police investigating the case found the suspect, a 23-year-old relative of Abu-Mokh’s, barricaded himself in his home. He later admitted to the crime.

Police say the motive behind the murder is still unclear.
