A female security guard was shot and lightly wounded on Monday morning when an unidentified assailant shot her at the Bnei Brak office building where she was on duty.
Initial reports indicated the guard fired back at her attacker and managed to hit him.
Police arrested the bleeding shooter at the Ayalon Mall, in nearby Ramat Gan, within hours of the incident and were investigating his motive.
The guard was evacuated to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.
The building she was guarding houses the offices of Elisra, an Israeli company specializing in electronic defense.
