Suspect in restaurant robbery tried to escape in taxi

A man was killed during a police pursuit in Eilat early Sunday morning.
The man, accused of robbing a restaurant in the southern resort town, was shot near Shahamon Square after police gave chase.
Another suspect in the robbery was moderately injured.
The owner of Casa De Brazil, near the city’s police station, told Ynet news that the two came into his restaurant shortly before 1 a.m. as the workers were closing up.
Once police arrived, the two jumped into a taxi and police chased them to Shahamon Square, at the western entrance to the city, where they were shot.
