An investigation was launched Tuesday by police after an officer was seen operating alone in the Palestinian town of al-Ram, on the outskirts of Jerusalem, a spokesman said.
According to police, Border Police officers were operating in the area to arrest three suspects who allegedly hurled stones at forces earlier.
In a video circulated on social media, one officer can be seen walking down a street by herself, in an apparent violation of a police protocol, which stipulates that forces must operate at minimum in pairs.
Palestinian media claimed police had “forgotten” the officer in the town.
But the spokesman denied the reports, saying additional forces were “within eyeshot” of the officer.
Border Police chief Amir Cohen instructed the commander of the gendarmerie’s West Bank division to carry out a “comprehensive investigation immediately.”

The findings of the probe are to be presented to Cohen personally, the spokesman said.
