Delays to train service in center and north due to electrical fault

There were delays and schedule changes to train services in the center and north of the country on Tuesday morning due to an electrical fault in the rail network.

Israel Railways said services from the Netanya, Binyamina and Hadera stations were impacted, as well as on the coastal line between Tel Aviv and Haifa.

The Caesarea-Pardes Hanna station was temporarily closed.

Israel Railways said that it was working to provide buses to replace services, but that commuters should try to find other modes of transportation.

Last week, light rail services were temporarily suspended in central Israel due to a technical issue, less than two weeks after its highly anticipated but much-delayed opening.

Tevel, which operates the light rail in the Gush Dan region, including Tel Aviv, said there was a fault in signaling that ensures the trains safely coordinate their movements with traffic lights and other trains on the track. The service began running again after a five-hour shutdown while technicians repaired the network.
