Eritrean national, 20, stabbed in Ashdod
Victim taken in serious condition to city’s Barzilai hospital; no indications incident was a terror attack
A man was seriously hurt early Sunday in an apparently criminal stabbing in the southern city of Ashdod.
Police identified the victim as a 20-year-old Eritrean national.
There are no immediate indications the stabbing is a terror attack.
He was stabbed in the upper torso by an unknown assailant on Yoseftal Street.
Magen David Adom rescue crews took him to the city’s Barzilai Hospital.
On October 18, 2015, Eritrean national Haftom Zarhum, 29, was shot and beaten by a mob of Israelis who mistook him for a terrorist shortly after a terror attack at the Beersheba central bus station.
