Former MK Gideon Gadot dies, 71

Ex-deputy Knesset Speaker spent 15 years as the chairman of national lottery

Gideon Gadot, a former parliamentarian and journalist, died on Saturday at the age of 71.

Gadot was elected to Knesset in 1984 and served for eight years, including four years as the deputy Knesset speaker.

For 15 years he was the chairman of Mifal HaPayis, Israel’s national lottery.

Gadot was to be laid to rest at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Nahalat Yitzhak cemetery in Tel Aviv.
