Former state witness gunned down in Tel Aviv

Man, who had testified in gambling probe, ambushed by gunmen while sitting in his car

A man in his late 30s or early 40s was gunned down near the Tel Aviv beach on Wednesday night in what appears to be an assassination.

The man, who had testified as a witness for the state in a gambling probe a few years ago, was sitting in his car when gunmen, who had apparently waited in ambush, shot him several times in his head and chest.

Magen David Adom paramedics who arrived on the scene were unable to save the man’s life. Large numbers of policemen began searches for the gunmen.
