Health Ministry office in Nazareth hit by grenade; no injuries

Building sustains damage in explosion; no motive given, but health officials have been threatened over child vaccination push

A grenade was fired at a Health Ministry office in the northern city of Nazareth on Monday night, causing damage but no injuries.

Police said they were summoned to the scene after local residents reported an explosion.

The government office sustained damage, but no injuries were reported, police said.

Police officers opened an investigation and collected evidence from the scene.

There was no immediate information on a possible motive.

Senior health officials have recently been targeted with a torrent threats, largely due to their support of COVID-19 vaccination for children.

Deputy Public Security Minister Yoav Segalovitz called the attack a “serious incident” aimed against a “symbol of power.”

“The criminals will be brought to justice,” he wrote on Twitter.
