Is Sarah Jessica Parker just a tease?
Rumors abound over a new ‘Sex in the City’ installment, as its front woman turns covergirl

To “three” or “not to three” is the question about a new “Sex in the City” movie. Although TV and film star Sarah Jessica Parker denies leading on her fans, the public has expressed dismay that the actress seems to have inadvertently flirted publicly with the idea of a new installment in the film series. On her Instagram account, Sarah Jessica Parker seems to have suggested another film might be in the making, an assertion she has subsequently denied.
The hullabaloo began when Parker posted an image of multiple pairs of heels on the steps of New York apartment, much like that of her “Sex in the City” alter ego, Carrie Bradshaw.
Fans couldn’t help but wonder what she was suggesting. Nevertheless, SJP says she didn’t mean to tempt fans with the post. She claims her Instagram post, captioned, “I guess the cat is out of the (little brown) bag” referred to Bloomingdales agreeing to carry her shoes.
A fashion icon in her own right, the mother of three is also a designer of her SJP label, that includes bags, shoes, watches and scented candles currently carried by the mega online retailer, Zappos, and brick-and-mortar stores, Bloomingdales and Nordstrom. The line includes flats, pumps, sandals, stilettos and boots that seem easily inspired by her on-screen persona Carrie Bradshaw. Prices start at $285 for a ballet flat and range up to $555 for a heeled bootie.
This month, Parker appears on her first Cosmopolitan magazine cover, in which she further dispels the rumors of a film trilogy. This career landmark occurs long after her character landed a fictitious New York magazine cover as her party girl alter ego.

Although SJP says she didn’t mean to mislead fans, her actions hint at a possible PR stunt to test the waters for another film. Although the first feature film released in 2008 grossed more than $415 billion worldwide, the second took in considerably less. It was still a cash cow with more than $288 billion in lifetime box office receipts.
Is a third in the making? If the response to SJP’s Instagram boo boo is any indicator, Hollywood might be convinced the story of Carrie, Mr. Big, Charlotte, Miranda, Samantha & Co. is not over yet.
Parker and her husband, Matthew Broderick, both have Jewish fathers who also acted. On screen, as Carrie Bradshaw in the smash hit eponymous enterprise, her character was not an over-the-top Jewish character, but her love of Sunday brunch with bagels, Jewie tank-tops and other elements suggested the screwball, often struggling writer who lived like a wealthy woman was a member of the tribe.
Producer Darren Star, the TV show’s Jewish creator and executive producer, is on record saying that although Carrie Bradshaw had no ethnicity, she could be considered a Jewish character.
