Israeli pop singer Moshiko Mor indicted in court for rape, sodomy
Musician was arrested earlier this month for allegedly raping a 30-year-old woman at his Rishon Lezion apartment in late December; he insists encounter was consensual

The State Attorney’s Office filed an indictment in the Lod District Court Tuesday against pop singer Moshiko Mor for two counts of rape and one count of sodomy, and requested that he be held in custody until the end of legal proceedings.
Mor, 34, was arrested earlier this month for allegedly raping a 30-year-old woman on December 28, 2024, in his apartment in Rishon Lezion, after inviting her and her friend for an “after party.”
According to the indictment, Mor then locked the woman in a bedroom, where he carried out the alleged offenses.
After leaving the apartment, the alleged victim went straight to the hospital, where staff called police after tests showed there were signs of rape.
In the indictment, the prosecution stated that Mor’s “serious and violent acts” were committed “after the plaintiff remained with the defendant in the apartment, and he committed them while using force and even causing injury to the plaintiff, and he repeated his actions once more. All of this is evidence of his dangerousness, toward the public in general and toward the plaintiff in particular.”
The Lod District Court placed identifying information for the plaintiff under gag order.
Mor has denied the allegations, and insists that the encounter with the woman was consensual.

Mor’s lawyers responded to the indictment, calling him a family man who is “married and father of two.”
“This is a 30-year-old divorced woman, who, even if everything she says is true – there is no dispute that she got into the suspect’s vehicle at her request, arrived at the suspect’s apartment of her own accord, was left alone with the suspect of her own accord,” they said in a statement.
“This is not an unrestrained sex offender who preys on a victim,” they said, and suggested he be released to house arrest.
The Na’amat women’s organization issued a statement in response to the indictment, calling Mor a “dangerous person” and said the details of the allegations “reveal the image of a monster.”
The organization added that Mor’s defense team “referring to the plaintiff as a ‘divorced woman’ is outrageous.”
Speaking to the Walla news site, the plaintiff said that she had “no prior acquaintance with [Mor] before that incident, and everything that was alleged about me during the hearing was a lie and a falsehood.”
She added that “the investigators acted quickly in my case and I am deeply grateful to them for that.”
