A day before vote, Dina Dayan pulls out of Labor leadership race
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA day before the Labor primaries, fringe candidate Dina Dayan is pulling out of the race and will support Isaac Herzog in the leadership bid, according to Hebrew media reports.
Dayan, an ultra-Orthodox woman from southern Israel who has cast herself as a protest vote, was formerly an activist who supported Herzog, reports political blogger Tal Schneider.
Herzog is set to give a press conference at 4:30 p.m.
The number of candidates in tomorrow’s race is now down to seven, after former general Amiram Levin withdrew his candidacy last week and announced he would back former minister Avi Gabbay.
