Butchers filmed marking ‘treif’ meat as kosher

Local employees at a butchery in Paraguay were filmed packing meat for shipment to Russia and then to Israel when kashrut supervisors were on break, in an attempt to sell treif meat as kosher, Ynet reports.

The employees were allegedly avenging dismissals in the factory which they believe were unjust.

The Chief Rabbinate announces it removes the kashrut status from the butchery. Damage to major food producers in Israel, such as Neto and Of Yerushalayim, is estimated at millions of shekels.
