Eida Haredit condemns murder of East Jerusalem teen
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Eida Haredit, the umbrella organization for Ashkenazi ultra-Orthodox communal services, fiercely denounces the murder of 16-year-old Abu Khdeir.
“With pain and horror,” we heard of the “foolish, and very severe act,” a statement from the Eida Haredit read, according to the ultra-Orthodox Kikar HaShabat website.
“It is clear and simple” that “it is forbidden according to the Torah, for a Jew to spill blood, heaven forbid.”
The organization maintains that the incident was made significantly worse since the perpetrators were “in Haredi garb.”
