The bomb that killed Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh at a Tehran guesthouse was planted hours before he was assassinated by two Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps agents recruited by the Mossad and not weeks or months in advance, according a report in the Jewish Chronicle.

The unsourced report says the two Iranians, members of the IRGC’s Ansar al-Mahdi protection unit, were in and out of Haniyeh’s room in a matter of minutes, and were let out of the compound without raising any suspicions.

The Mossad then reportedly smuggled them out of the country an hour later.

The report also says the bomb was placed under Haniyeh’s bed and detonated remotely by a robot.
