IS claims deadly Pakistan police academy attack
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe Islamic State group is claiming responsibility for a deadly attack on a Pakistani police academy that killed at least 59 people.
IS says three of its fighters killed 60 police recruits in the attack, but the claim is not confirmed by Pakistani officials and IS does not offer any previously unknown details about the assault.
Gunmen stormed the police academy in the southwestern city of Quetta overnight Monday, killing mostly police cadets and recruits, and waging a ferocious gun battle with troops that lasted into early hours this morning.
