Jewish Israeli arrested for JCC bomb threats
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleFollowing a months-long operation in cooperation with the FBI and other foreign law enforcement agencies, Israeli police arrest a 19-year-old Jewish Israeli on suspicion of carrying out hundreds of bomb threats called into US Jewish Community Centers.
Since January, more than 100 JCCs and other institutions have received bomb threats, prompting some parents to pull their kids from JCC programs.
The FBI, US Department of Homeland Security and other law enforcement agencies had been investigating the threats, but until now had yet to charge anyone with committing the vast majority of them.
Juan Thompson, a St. Louis resident, has been charged with committing eight of the threats, but appears to be a copycat.
