Memorial service at Knesset ends, casket heads to Latrun
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe memorial service at the Knesset ends with a reading by the IDF’s chief cantor of an ancient Talmudic prayer: “Know whence you came, and to where you are going, and before Whom you will give your accounting.”
The casket was carried out of the Knesset plaza by eight pallbearers, followed by family members and a military honor guard.
It is now headed to a military memorial at Latrun, where Sharon first fought as a member of the IDF, and where he was wounded and nearly killed in 1948.
Route 1 out of Jerusalem is now closed up to Latrun Junction.
