Nearly 40% of Israelis support segregated maternity wards
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA Knesset Channel poll finds that nearly 40% of Israelis surveyed support Jewish Home MK Bezalel Smotrich’s remark advocating racial segregation of maternity wards.
The survey asked Arab and Jewish respondents alike.
Smotrich’s comments on Twitter were roundly rejected by Israeli politicians and pundits.
He had tweeted in response to an exposé by Israel Radio that found that a number of major hospitals were separating Jewish and Arab mothers, contrary to the law.
