Netanyahu campaign billboard places NYC’s Mamdani alongside leaders of Iran and Hezbollah

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu uses New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as a campaign foil, putting Mamdani on a billboard and in a campaign ad for his reelection bid.

Netanyahu posts an image of a billboard in Tel Aviv showing Mamdani alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, and the chief of the Hezbollah terrorist group, Naim Qassem.

“They want Netanyahu to lose,” says the billboard next to Tel Aviv’s Ayalon highway.

“Don’t let them win,” the billboard says, above a logo for Netanyahu’s Likud party.

Mamdani is an outspoken opponent of Israel and recently called Netanyahu a “war criminal” while acknowledging that New York City lacks the power to arrest him under a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes in Gaza. Netanyahu has repeatedly spoken of Mamdani’s criticism and has said he plans to visit the city for the United Nations General Assembly next month.

Critics of Mamdani’s statement on Netanyahu had predicted that the premier would leverage it for his reelection campaign.

Netanyahu also posts a video montage showing Mamdani calling Netanyahu a “war criminal,” followed by the same campaign message as the billboard.

Mamdani is on vacation this week in upstate New York and has not commented on Netanyahu’s campaign.
