President Isaac Herzog, the previous chairman of the Jewish Agency, lauds the nomination of Doron Almog as his replacement, saying he has trust in Almog’s “talents, experiences and abilities” to lead the semi-governmental organization.

“This is a very important position in the Jewish world, which works to connect the State of Israel with the Jews of the Diaspora, to connect the Jewish world to our country; it influences Israeli society and immigration and absorption. I am confident and sure in [Almog’s] talents, experiences and abilities to lead this important organization forward,” Herzog says in a statement.
