Several highways, byroads closed for funeral procession

Several Israeli highways and smaller roads have been closed by police to accommodate the travel route of Ariel Sharon’s casket.

Route 1 leading out of Jerusalem to Latrun is closed, as is Route 3 from Latrun south to Soreq Junction.

Route 6 from Soreq to its intersection with Route 40 is expected to be closed soon. Route 40 to Bet Kamah Junction in the central Negev, Route 293 from Bet Kamah westward, Route 334 between the Ibim and Sdeh Tzvi junctions and all other routes leading to and around the Sycamore Farm area are sealed to traffic.
