Talks between Israel and Syria set to continue for 2nd day in Paris

Talks in Paris between Israel and Syria will continue for a second day today, a diplomatic source tells The Times of Israel.

The US will be mediating the talks, and France will not participate. The talks are the third round between the two enemy states held in Paris.

France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has met his Syrian counterpart Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani.

According to the Syrian readout, the two diplomats discussed “ways to enhance strategic partnerships between the two countries, in addition to France’s readiness for its companies to resume operations in Syria.”

Barrot will likely meet US envoy Tom Barrack tomorrow, and will meet members of the Israeli delegation as well.
