US envoy said to ask State Department to stop using the word ‘occupied’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleUS Ambassador to Israel David Friedman is reportedly asking the US State Department to stop using the term “occupied” in official documents referring to Israel and the West Bank.
Israel Radio reports that the State Department refused. However, due to pressure from above they have agreed that the issue will be discussed again soon.
This comes after US President Donald Trump shifted decades of US policy and recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
