US envoy says ‘no reason’ to evacuate settlements in any peace deal
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleUS Ambassador to Israel David Friedman says that “he saw no reason to evacuate settlements” in any future peace deal.
The US envoy made the remarks in a meeting with a number of settler leaders today.
Likud Lawmaker Yehudah Glick, who organized the sit-down with Har Hebron Regional Council chairman Yochai Damari confirms his comments, telling The Times of Israel that the ambassador was “very explicit” in his remark regarding Israeli communities in the West Bank.
A spokeswoman for the embassy declines to comment.
