Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, files a complaint to the police over a death threat and incitement against him on social media.
Last night Palestinians posted threats on Dagan’s personal Facebook page calling for attacks on him and his family.
Among the comments posted on his wall:
“I swear by Allah, you and your state are doomed. Just as Allah promised, Palestine will be free. OUR Palestine.”
“You started the evil, and you will bear the responsibility. We have exposed where you are, and my people have placed a number of bombs there. When you see my post, your house will probably blow up within minutes.”
As a result of these words, Dagan was classified as a “threatened individual” by the authorities.
The police updated the Samaria security officer and the Jerusalem police and ordered them to increase their vigilance around him.
Dagan said: “Those posts are part of the same terror that expects us to give up: To give up the land of Israel, to give up on life here. To give up the protest. We’re here to stay and nothing will move us. I’m not in fear for my life, and I will continue the struggle for our security with all of the Jewish nation.”
