Man killed in drive-by shooting in northern Israel

Police open investigation into incident

A man died Wednesday morning hours after he was targeted in a drive-by shooting at an intersection in northern Israel.

The 26-year-old victim was in a serious condition when he was taken to HaEmek Medical Center in nearby Afula, and was later pronounced dead by doctors.

Police said that the victim, a resident of the village of Na’ura in northern Israel, was sitting in his vehicle close to the Navot intersection when he was shot from a passing vehicle.

The motive behind the attack was not immediately clear, and police have opened an investigation.
