A Palestinian wounded during violent clashes at the Gaza Strip border with the Israeli soldiers last week died early Monday from his injuries, the health ministry in the Hamas-ruled area said.

Yusef al-Buhel, 48, died after being shot east of the Maghazi refugee camp in the center of the Hamas-ruled coastal strip, according to ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra.

He was one of about 40 Palestinians wounded in the clashes that took place Friday at several points along the border fence.

An IDF spokeswoman reported that hundreds of Palestinians took part and there were fears that they would try to break through into Israel.

For more than three months Palestinians have carried out near daily terror attack against Israeli civilians and security forces including stabbings, shootings, and car ramming attacks.

In all, over 20 Israelis have been killed in attacks, along with over 100 Palestinians, most of whom were shot while carrying out attacks, and the others in violent clashes with the IDF.
