Palestinians fire rocket at southern Israel

No casualties or damage reported

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Saturday night fired a Kassam rocket that landed in an open area in the Sdot Negev region.

There were no reports of casualties or damage.

Children who were outside celebrating Lag B’Omer were instructed by police to return to their homes.

Security forces were searching for the fallen rocket.

Recent weeks have seen a resumption of sporadic rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, after several months of relative quiet along the border in the wake of Israel’s November 2012 bombing campaign against Hamas and other armed factions in Gaza.
