Police discovered three bodies Saturday evening in an apartment in the southern Israeli city of Arad in what they suspect is a possible murder-suicide.

According to initial reports, the victims were an elderly couple and their adult son.

A police spokesperson confirmed that a man in his 80’s was found hanged in the bathroom and his wife was found dead in her bed from an apparent overdose on medication.

A third victim, believed by police to be the couple’s adult son, was found dead elsewhere in the apartment and his body showed signs of violence, Ynet reported.

According to the report, a letter in Russian was found in the apartment.

The couple’s grandson contacted authorities after going to the apartment and being unable to unlock the door or contact his family members.
