Jerusalem police and hundreds of volunteers on Sunday evening found a 3-year-old child who had disappeared during a family excursion in the woods outside Jerusalem earlier in the afternoon.
Adam Hemed was found safe and sound after going missing for nearly four hours. He was hiking with his father and several other children on Sunday afternoon near Har Adar, which straddles the Green Line (pre-1967 line between Israel and the West Bank) west of Jerusalem, when he disappeared.
Police, on Monday, questioned the child’s father on suspicion of neglecting a minor.
The police’s search and rescue unit employed search dogs, all-terrain vehicles, and mounted policemen in the effort to find the missing boy. The settlement of Har Adar is surrounded by several square miles of forest.
